we’re going away at the end of march for a much needed break! and in anticipation of spring break, we knit up lara — a honeycomb mesh, lightweight scarf, which at 6 feet long is perfect for draping around just about everything in our spring & summer wardrobe.
this time around we got the idea for lara when rummaging through a bunch of old spanish flamenco shawls. we saw one with the most interesting tassels. the top of the tassels were woven together in a criss-cross basketweave pattern, so as to form a bit of a lacey border. we decided to replicate the woven tassels on lara, and built the scarf up from there.
lara is free with the purchase of the yarn required to make the project. just write “lara” in the comments box and we’ll send you a hardcopy of the pattern. there’s no need to add the pattern into your cart to receive the offer.
