we don’t know if it’s the summer heat or the effects of yayoi kusama being in town . . . but we’ve gone downright dotty with plenty of new polka dotted fabrics in the shop. find nani iro’s here and echino’s here.

queen of dots
you could say that yayoi kusama, the queen of dots, has landed in nyc. a retrospective on the japanese artist’s works, which has been circling the globe for the past few months, popped up at the Whitney Museum around mid-July and will be there thru Sep 30. you’ll also see yayoi’s very polka dot friendly collaboration with louis vuitton in stores. and this morning, as we took pearce the puppy on his morning walk, we snapped a picture of yayoi’s guidepost to the new space installation…
liberty remnant necklaces
yup…we’re magpies, liberty fabric magpies, that is! you know those little bits and strips of liberty fabric that you’re sometimes left with after a project that are too small for any sort of sewing and yet too precious to throw away? well! if you’ve got lengthy strips in the bunch, they’re great for making jewelry . . . we finally got around to doing so this week, using a few longish strips in our stash to dress up a simple bronze rolo chain. wear…

more minkle
yay! we finally got more minkle back on our shelves…and added two new colours too: crystals in the mine (black) and sparkle in the haze (plum). minkle can be found on our shelves here. which also means you can finally knit Celeste in the sample colour!
where’s my ‘stache?
the long awaited where’s my ‘stache? fabric by alexander henry has finally made its way to us. yipee!!! it’s the funkiest and funniest fabric that we’ve come across in a while! now in the shop here . . .
